polymer plate

With in this task we were set to make a black and white image to be turned in to a polymer plate.
This is what I made for the plate this was mostly inspired by the artist Alexandra Olivia who is an illustrator, with her work being colourful and unique combing portraits with fantastical and contemporary elements.
Here the sketch I did made and then the final version that was made in to the plate

This is what the polymer plate looked like
I did a couple of print using different paper type and adding thing to the paper such as tissue paper to add colour as well using ink to colour one of the paper as to use as the background.
This one was printed on the letterpress on cotton watercolour paper I really like the how it not sharp like it kinda has a faded looked to it as the paper was really textured.

This is one of the tissue paper technique I did use it as a background colour this was also do with a letterpress.
This is the one that I use coloured inks to use as the background for the paint still using the letterpress for this print
I used red ink over this print as well as I cut shapes out of the tissue paper for the back ground I used a manual press for this print.
This was done with a letterpress used a patten paper for this print.
Use red card and white ink for the print I did wanted to use black paper but I didn't haven any so I use this to see how it could work and I do like how it came out.
I use manual press and I decide ti use two colours to see how this will look and to keep exploring different ways this can be ink.
Same with this print I waned to see the colour properly and how it gradient it between the tow colours.
Use use brown paper for this print with red ink, used a manual press for this too.

This was the most interesting way you can make a type of print pressing I see and didn't know you can do and I did lean a lot about different print press technique, what I wish I did is as well is make a relief print where it just no ink and it just the indentation of the plate press in to paper but over all I really liked how each print came out and using different technique for the background of the paper as well as using different paper type to see the range of the textue that will effect the end result of the prints.
what might even want to see to explore if I can to make a bigger pieces using this way of print and trying to figure out how I would colour it too in the future.
